Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Parent information evening – Thursday 28 Nov 6.30pm HSHS School Library

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of Hedland Senior High School’s commitment to ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, we are excited to begin implementing our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative in 2018.

The School Curriculum and Standards Authority have stated that:

“ICT capability supports and enhances student learning across all areas of the curriculum. Students develop and apply ICT knowledge, skills and appropriate social and ethical protocols and practices to investigate, create and communicate, as well as developing their ability to manage and operate ICT to meet their learning needs.”

Therefore, on the 28th of November, at 6:30pm, the Information & Communications Technologies (ICT) Team are pleased to invite you to an information session for all LEAP Students Yrs 7-9, Academic Extension Students Yr 10, and ATAR Students Yrs 11-12 parents.  Here, we will elaborate on exactly how investing in ICT will benefit your child’s learning needs and extend their capability as students of the modern world.

The information session will cover the following topics:

  • Rollout and timing for 2018
  • Device specifications and recommendations
  • Advanced ICT usage in the classroom
  • Design Project ICT integration
  • Using ICT to improve outcomes across learning areas

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions and express any concerns you may have. 2018 marks an exciting development in the integration of digital technologies into the classroom at HSHS.  We hope you will join us at the launch of this exciting initiative.
