Program Coordinator – Manager – Health and Wellbeing   

This is an eighteen (18) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2018 with possible six (6) month extension.

Hedland SHS is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator committed to supporting the development of a safe, positive and caring learning environment that will improve student outcomes.

As Manager Health & Wellbeing you will have a capacity to develop, implement and evaluate policies, plans and programs relevant to the functions of the Student Services area. You will display a sound understanding of the case management of educationally at-risk students that includes knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. There is an associated responsibility to establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the relevant area of responsibility, in order to ensure the effective operation of the department, within the school in accordance with Departmental policy and guidelines.

The successful applicant will possess the ability to provide direction and purpose to staff, build team capacity and cohesion and promote an environment of positive quality learning experiences for all students. Marketing and Media Officer   

This is a 12 month full-time position commencing Term 1, 2018.

The Marketing and Media Officer provides operational support in the development, implementation and management of the school’s Marketing Plan. This includes the coordination of promotional events and marketing activities, including Premier and Parliamentary Officer visits and parent and student information sessions.

The successful applicant will also be required to manage and monitor the school’s annual marketing budget, liaise with key stakeholders in the organisation of promotional events and marketing, and establish and manage the promotional events and marketing database.

Cleaner   

We currently have three (3) permanent full-time positions available. All positions will commence Term 1, 2018.

The successful applicants will be required to carry out internal cleaning duties, in accordance with the Department’s procedures. The duties include the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, drinking troughs and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, suitable applicants would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, other general cleaning and other such duties as required by the Cleaner-in-Charge. Vacation cleaning duties will need to be completed and it includes shampooing carpets and pressure cleaning various areas.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) Assessor and Coordinator   

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2018.

Hedland Senior High School (SHS) has an exciting opportunity for a leader with demonstrated expertise in Vocational Education and Training (VET) to coordinate and manage all aspects of training delivery, Registered Training Organisations (RTO) requirements, extend partnerships and grow opportunities for School-based Traineeships (SBT) and Aboriginal School-based Traineeships (ASBT).

The successful applicant will oversee the delivery, assessment and reporting of the training packages offered at Hedland SHS and partner RTOs. Experience and understanding of compliancy requirements across all aspects of VET is highly desirable. This is a dynamic role where the day-to-day work often varies. There are often many competing interests for a VET Coordinator’s time and attention, so an ability to prioritise and delegate tasks is essential.
