Hedland Mathematics and Science Centre of Excellence visits high school

In Term 1 students participating in the Hedland Mathematics and Science Centre of Excellence visited the high school to participate in Science activities in the field of Human Biology. The students participated in activities that allowed them to understand the structure of the skeletal system and the organs in the human body. They examined various microscope slides of parts of the human body and some animal bodies, and witnessed the dissection a heart, lung and liver from a sheep. Students were also given the chance to dissect a brain. These activities were part of the ongoing relationship between Hedland Senior High School and the Hedland Mathematics and Science Centre of Excellence hosted at South Hedland PS.
