Hedland SHS claim two titles at the V Swans Hedland Cup

Hedland Senior High School hosted the V Swans Hedland Cup which involved schools from across the Pilbara competing in a two day football and netball carnival.  Newman Senior High School, Karratha Senior High School, St Lukes College and Tom Price Senior High School travelled to Hedland to compete in the Year 7&8 and Year 9&10 divisions on offer.

The games were of a high standard and provided students a wonderful opportunity to test their skills which they have been working on within the Shooting Goals and Kicking Goals program.

The carnival was also a great opportunity for our Upper School Certificate II Sport Coaching students to action what they have been working on in the program, they did a fantastic job of coaching and umpiring our Hedland sides.

Hedland finished the carnival with two shields, one each from the football field and netball courts.  Our Year 9 & 10 Kicking Goals football team and our Year 9 & 10 Shooting Goals Netball team wen through their divisions undefeated and claimed the cups in a stylish manner in their Grand Finals.

It was a great effort to all students, teachers and helpers involved throughout the two days.
