Hedland Senior High School’s STEM (Science Technologies Engineering Mathematics) Enrichment Program focuses on engagement, embedding, extension and enrichment of students in the STEM subjects. The STEM Enrichment Program aims to build student knowledge and understanding of technologies through cross-curricular learning. Food Science will be the topic for Term 1 and students will develop understanding of the chemistry and development of food. The program for Term 1 will run for 7 weeks and will be open to students in years 6 to 8. This is a highly competitive program where only a selected number of students will be offered a placement.
Each class is capped at 30 students and all are required to apply by end of week 3 (Sunday, 18th February).
Students will find out whether they are accepted on Wednesday of week 4 (21st February).
Please do not pay for the program until acceptance has been confirmed in writing.

Other courses under consideration for the future include: Animation, Rocket Science, Biomechanics, Robotics, Web Design, Coding, Dimensional Design, and Artistic Maths.
The STEM Enrichment program comes to a cost of $50 per term. This cost includes and covers all resources, materials and other consumables.
Proof of payment is required before commencement of the program.
As this program run by Hedland Senior High School staff, it is required that all students uphold the school ethos, rules and values.
