In Humanities and Social Science (HASS), students gain a greater understanding of the world around them, through subjects such as History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Economics and Business.
Each topic program is designed based on the relevant curriculum documents and on the interests of the students. This enables the teachers to teach engaging and relevant programs which students enjoy and do well in.
In 2012 we began implementing the Australian Curriculum: History in Years 8- 10, which has broadened the topics which are taught to students, whilst at the same time broadening the students understanding of history on a local, national and international level. This curriculum also teaches students the skills they will need to pursue senior school history.
In senior school we offer courses such as History and Geography in the ATAR pathway. In the VET pathway we offer Career and Enterprise and Workplace Learning, which has a work placement component.
