This Friday marks the anniversary of May 17th, 1990, when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. While we celebrate this milestone and other advancements in LGBTQIA+ equality, over two decades later, LGBTQIA+ communities still face discrimination.

78% of students and teachers reported witnessing negative comments about LGBTQIA+ people at their school.

How can you help?

LGBTQIA+ students & allies who would like to build safe spaces and visibility around the school, please reach out to Paulicia Olivier at or Jennifer Pritchard at
