Last term, our Year 9 Coding and Automation students took part in an exciting incursion delivered by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy (CME) in partnership with BHP.
Students put their Micro:bit skills to the test programming cars to tackle obstacle courses, refining debugging skills, and exploring how automation is used in real-world safety equipment like high-vis gear and hard hats.
After recess, the energy ramped up as four local primary schools joined us! Our Year 9’s stepped up as outstanding mentors, leading five interactive stations and guiding younger students through hands-on coding challenges.
Some of our STEM Club students also impressed, showcasing their Micro:bit hovercrafts, drones and solar cars making the Year 5/6 students excited to attend high school and STEM club!
We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students for their leadership, teamwork and confidence
